Crochet Pattern for a Single Flower

This single flower looks especially nice when used with the Double Flower.  Here are two examples of how they can be used together.  Both examples are sewn on the Hooded Towel that I made my baby granddaughter, Lily.  Enjoy.

Crochet instructions:

Chain 4, slip stitch into first chain to form a circle.
Single crochet 12 times in circle.  Slip stitch to connect to first single crochet.
Single stitch in first single crochet.
Chain 3, skip a stitch, single crochet in next stitch, repeat till you have 6 loops going around in a circle.  In the first loop, 1 single crochet, 5 double crochet.  Repeat for all loops.
Connect with slip stitch.  You should now have five petals.
Single stitch to connect.  Tie off.
