How to Make Flavored Popcorn

This first recipe, “Peanut Butter and Honey Popcorn” comes straight from Grandma Maxine.  At my bridal shower (25 years ago), everyone was asked to bring a recipe to give me to start my recipe collection.  This is the recipe Grandma brought, hand written on a light blue index card.  Peanut Butter and Honey Popcorn is still a family favorite and one of our most popular after school snacks.

Grandma Maxine's Peanut Butter and Honey Popcorn

One batch air popped corn
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
2 tablespoons Honey

Combine the melted butter, peanut butter, and honey in a bowl.  Pour over popped corn.  Stir.  Eat.  You can try it with jelly instead of honey, but I recommend orange colored jelly instead of red or purple.  Also try with just butter and honey for a kettle corn type of popcorn.  You might want to salt that one.

We eat the next one all the time, too.

Parmesan Popcorn

One batch of air popped corn
2 tablespoons melted butter
Parmesan Cheese
Salt.

Drizzle popped corn with melted butter.  Sprinkle on cheese and salt to taste.  Stir. Eat.

I made this once and it was good:

Ramen popcorn

One batch air popped corn
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 ramen flavor packet.

Drizzle popped corn with melted butter.  Sprinkle on ramen flavor packet.  Stir.  Eat.

You can use the same idea to make garlic butter popcorn, seasoned salt popcorn, cinnamon sugar popcorn, whatever.
